The Semi-Automated Myofascial Agitator is a device that breaks up scar tissue built up under the skin. The scar tissue can hinder full range of motion on joints and limbs causing excruciating pain. The Semi-Automated Myofascial Agitator, when used over several sessions by a medical professional, breaks up the scar tissue and allows it to heal properly enabling the individual to have a full range of motion of joints. This project is tasked with the design of this device and must be small enough that it is easily maneuverable and is comfortable in one hand. Additionally, for ease of operation through the entire session, the device should be lightweight, preferably less than 1.2 lbs; with an oscillatory motion, and a variable speed tool capable of adjustment to the patient’s comfort.
