Project Description Heading link

The purpose of this project is to use a design process that Team Strongarm has implemented to create a pick and place robotic arm. The team identified the task and purpose of the project, researched past literature focused on robotic arms, identified relevant industry codes and standards relating to robotic arms, and then implemented a design process to create a basic design of a pick and place robotic arm. Parts were then researched, and costs were analyzed to ensure a cost of the arm not reach above $250. Lastly, a 3D model was built as a blueprint to the future, physical design. This 3-D model was further refined, and prototype parts have been 3-D printed for construction and testing. Furthermore, motors and circuits to power the arm have been ordered, and testing will begin as soon as possible.

See supporting documentation in the team’s Box drive.
