Project Description Heading link

Have you had a basic health check recently? You may be part of the 80% of Americans avoiding preventive health care visits to the doctor when compared to economically similar countries. This may be due to prices of co-pays, hidden fees, and generally expensive costs. Our team is attempting to provide consumers with a relatively low-cost, accurate and non-invasive product that can allow users to check their daily health metrics hassle free. A large majority of Americans have smartphones, and we aim to make a device that utilizes these smartphones to highlight the user’s current health. Our team has developed the Smart Grip that attaches to the back of a user’s smartphone and provides feedback on their health. We plan on using sensors that would monitor the user’s pulse, blood oxygen level and body temperature. The device will communicate to the phone through an application that we have also developed. The application will relay the user’s current readings and also provide feedback on how the user’s health compares to previous recordings. Our aim with this project is to help consumers understand the status of their health. This can lead to early detections of sickness which could potentially help avoid the growth of a pandemic such as COVID-19.
