SAE Baja Data Acquisition

Project Description Heading link

The UIC SAE BAJA team is sponsoring this project to design a process and details of building a low-cost, durable data acquisition system. This future product is the result of the SAE BAJA team wishing to produce accurate, meaningful data to present during BAJA competitions. Research was performed to determine the best sensors to measure suspension travel, vehicle speed, engine output shaft speed, CVT belt temperature, and vehicle rotation about the x, y, and z axis. Data for each sensor will be collected 50 times per second and stored on a microSD card that is attached to the microcontroller. The final design choices were chosen to meet all the functional requests of the BAJA team, all while remaining under the proposed budget.
