Our Arduino based device will detect whether or not a door has been pushed open to alert the owner that someone/something is here. The device will also display on the LED and set off an alarm while also conveying extra information. Our security device will also be able to detect the temperature of the room just so it has useful information for the owner to look at. The LED display will be able to cycle through the information at the users will. The devices on our Arduino will use a temperature sensor in order to properly display the information to the LED display. The device will also use another sensor (ultrasonic sensor) where it will record the distance from the sensor to the wall, while the door is closed. If the door opens into where the device is measuring from (the door opening will decrease the distance measured), the alarm will go off. The main thing that makes our device unique will be how it not only can detect whether or not the door is pushed open, but also detect the temperature of the room and display all of that information onto the LED display.
