Neurorehabilitation technology using augmented reality (AR) provides users enhanced feedback while also motivating them. However such devices and therapies do not fully exploit the capabilities that AR can provide an inexpensive, manageable way. The LookinGlass TM frame by Dr. Patton and his team, of Shirley Ryan’s Abilitylab, is a possible solution, but it is difficult to operate. Our group redesigned a new generation of LookinGlass that preserves prior capabilities while also being less cumbersome through the use of telescopic tubes and foldability of the legs. The new design allows easier portability more intuitive adjustments for height. We believe that these improvements boost portability ease-of-use and aesthetic appeal of the device for use in both human-computer interaction studies and neurorehabilitation streamlined for patients.
