Waste management is a problem that impacts every society and has serious effects on the environment and public health. Traditional waste management techniques, which entail the manual collection and disposal of trash, are frequently ineffective, expensive, and can pose significant health risks to the workforce involved. The smart dumpster project was created with the intention of addressing these issues by redefining garbage management through the application of cutting-edge technology. The smart dumpster project makes use of an Arduino microcontroller, a potent device for managing a wide range of instruments that can be added to the system. These sensors, which enable for precise monitoring of the waste levels in the dumpster, include ultrasonic and infrared sensors. After that, this data is sent to a central system for garbage management process analysis and optimization. With the help of this technology, the system can recognize and categorize various waste kinds and then sort them in accordance with those categories, resulting in efficient and effective waste management techniques. This project is a reliable answer to the problems with conventional trash disposal techniques. The system saves money and enhances worker safety by drastically reducing the workload on human labor by automating the garbage gathering process. Furthermore, being able to recognize and classify various waste types ensures that each type is disposed of in the most ecologically friendly manner possible. Therefore, the smart dumpster is a ground-breaking idea that provides a fresh perspective on waste control. It is a long-lasting and environmentally friendly option that offers effective waste collection and disposal while minimizing garbage disposal’s negative effects on the ecosystem. This project, which has the potential to revolutionize waste management procedures, is a prime illustration of how technology can be used to develop creative answers to pressing issues in the real world.
