Project Description Heading link

The goal of our weather station is to provide weather information for all our users hyper-local weather needs. The overall system would consist of two modules, an indoor and outdoor module, both grabbing weather information with a live report being on display for the user on the indoor unit. Both systems would be plugged in and ideally communicating wirelessly, with the indoor unit receiving weather information from the outdoor unit. The indoor unit would then compile all the current data and display it elegantly to our users on an LCD display. This report will also include indoor weather information. Both temperature and humidity are expected to be outputted. The outdoor unit utilizes an easy to read 4 digit 7-segment display allowing those outdoors to know the exact temperature. Extreme weather conditions such as the temperature being below freezing, over 90 degrees, etc may trigger additional warnings to help warn users to dress or make plans appropriately. Besides the initial power on, the intention is for the weather station to sit idling displaying information that gets updated at a given interval. However, customization options such as adjusting the temperature unit (ex: F- >C). Wireless communication using the NRF24L01 transmitter allows the indoor and outdoor units to be separated between a reasonable distance. This indoor unit is something that could be easily sit on a users desk or night stand with the outdoor unit in their garden, allowing them to check the temperature at just a glance.
