The Environmental Dynamic Alarm System (EDAS) will allow the user to monitor soil moisture and temperature levels at locations they want. By connecting and then spreading the sensors over the desired region, users can monitor various environmental factors and conditions from a single device. The system will consist of a single Main Console which communicates with a group of sub modules which conduct the monitoring. When a sub module determines its reading falls below or above a user defined threshold range, an alarm notification is sent to the Main Console via I2C Connection where it is displayed to the user. An example of a use case for the system would be in the agricultural sector where farmers would use the devices to monitor soil moisture levels for crops alongside the temperature levels across a wide region. This can ensure that water and human resources are carefully used and not wasted specifically for irrigation system use. This can help in making farming more resource conscious and efficient. In addition, the system can be used by researchers in locations they are interested to study more about the soil moisture and temperature levels. The studies can help researchers determine how environmental factors such as soil moisture and temperature levels affect a specific region and possibly determine which locations are more suitable for living compared to other areas.
