Nowadays security systems are quite prevalent especially in the security camera market. Our project aims to reproduce a security system, such that users will be notified when someone is detected, and intruders are made aware they are being recorded. Our security system aims to encapsulate the features of popular security systems commercially available such as Ring cameras that send notifications to users when motion is detected and allow users to respond to the people detected. The purpose of our system is to create a security system to notify the system owner when someone is intruding on where they want to protect. Our system is made of two subsystems, the first system is autonomously monitoring the area for motion and notifies the second subsystem when motion is detected. It will do this by turning on a buzzer on the second subsystem. The second subsystem which is controlled by the user can then deter intruders and warn them to leave using their IR remote to turn on components on the first subsystem and sending a message on the LCD. Our two subsystems or Arduinos would communicate direct via wire or serial communication. We will call the first subsystem the detector and the second subsystem the messenger. Eric Bugarin will work subsystem two or the messenger, and John Ray Alcano will work on subsystem one or the deterrent.
