Project Description Heading link

The Annin Robotic AR4 is the latest generation of the Annin Robotics. The AR4 is a 6-axis robot arm, which is widely used in small automation processes. This latest generation is closed loop with encoders and compatible with RoboDK software. The grippers are the unique, separated part of the robot, they can be changed to serve the purposes of the users. There are hundreds of available grippers for the robot on the market, but for the purpose of the sponsor, they team need to come up with a low-cost, reliable gripper which can be used to pick up three different parts that they determined, and put them in the machine to combine them together. The team’s gripper needed to be coded and controlled by using Arduino, it also needed to be able to detect failure during the process and give feedback to the robot to redo the steps by using sensors. The gripper can only be operated by 12V source or less. Moreover, the gripper should be easy for the sponsor to fix or change parts when it is necessary. For the project’s final device, the team aims to successfully meet all the requirements for the device, fully substitute from manual process to automatic process done by the robotic arm.
