Humanity’s race against global warming keeps getting more intense as time goes on without a replacement to high carbon emitting fossil fuels. Animal migration patterns are shifting, more catastrophic weather events are occurring, and neighboring countries are engaging in dangerous politics to put the blame on each other’s lack of air quality. The European Union has been the leader in paving the way and to begin developing solutions to the most challenging and impactful problem ever in human history. With this, the development and implementation of hydrogen powered vehicles has begun, using natural gas to produce 99.99% fuel grade hydrogen. The scope of this project is to provide the hydrogen fuel required to source a revolutionary fuel station in Germany, where the trains will be using zero emission hydrogen fuel to transport thousands of individuals every day. This station will allow not only for the fueling of trains going through the station, but will allow the fueling of hydrogen fuel cell cars that are commuting to and from the station as well. Although most don’t think about it, the vehicles will not be emitting carbon dioxide, but the steam methane reformation process to produce large amounts of hydrogen fuel, does. To combat this, our project will consider a carbon capture unit, to capture more than 70% of all carbon dioxide generated, to be used in in drilling practices to increase pressurization and increasing overall extraction. This plant will be an essential contributor to begin the transition to more efficient fuel sources in the European region and will pave “The Way of the Future”.
