Project Description Heading link

With a global pandemic ongoing there is an increase in the amount of individuals working at home and at their computers. Along with this, in recent years, the amount of people living sedentary lifestyles has increased, with computers becoming a major part of the everyday workplace and home life. Both these factors have brought an increased interest in tracking vitals information to check one’s well-being. Although solutions do exist on the market to track vitals from home, many of these products are expensive and inaccessible, and many who do have access to the products still don’t check their vitals regularly. Our user needs a low-cost device that can track and store vital information while being simple to use and non-intrusive, and easily manufactured. Our solution is to incorporate vitals tracking into an everyday object, a computer mouse. Our device targets those who work from home and want to be able to keep track of their vitals to maintain their health. Our device tracks heart rate and oxygen levels over a 30 day period to 95% accuracy, providing analysis and the ability to export the data to health professionals, while also providing alerts to the user about their vitals.
