Cyclists should be able to feel comfortable and safe while riding a bike on the street. In order to increase safety and environmental awareness, we have designed a smart helmet. The Eagle Eye monitors the user’s surroundings using LIDAR and provides visual and audio notifications via bluetooth. When Eagle Eye is connected to a Phone via Bluetooth, the speakers will give the user directions based on the user’s preferred navigational application. This includes the usage of LEDs to alert the user of potential danger in their blind spots. The LEDs will be placed above the eye level to ensure that it is not distracting the user whilst still being in the user’s field of view. The LEDs change to different colors depending on the proximity of the threat to the user.
