Over 3,000 people die in a house fire every year. House fires account for 78 percent of all deaths relating to fire incidents. Moreover, individuals who are deaf/blind are most at risk of harm during the event of a house fire. To help make it safer for them, we created the Emergency Alert System for Everyone (E.A.S.E.). E.A.S.E is a wearable alert system that vibrates to warn the wearer when a fire or gas is detected by our monitoring system. Our wearable device is affordable, reliable, light weight, and easy to use. E.A.S.E. aims to bridge the gap that people with disabilities face in the event of a house fire.
