New methods of transportation such as electric skateboards and scooters have changed the way people commute. However, once the weather becomes colder, it becomes apparent that electric skateboards and scooters aren’t designed to operate in these weather conditions. Icy roads, precipitation, and lower temperatures can make these devices inoperable or even dangerous. We have designed an electric skateboard that can be used during harsh winter conditions and have it work all year round. By developing a skateboard that has a built-in winter mode and enclosures to help operate in colder conditions, people can keep riding their electric skateboard without having to worry about the weather. We have implemented weatherized and protected components, four-wheel drive, and safety features like awareness illumination to create a reliable electric skateboard that users can use.
