Real time detection of basketball players’s shot attempts is a convenient tool to improve their game performance. Our goal is to help players improve their game by creating a device and a mobile application that when paired together can track the user, their shots, and provide useful statistics as feedback. The device will process BLE signal strength, convert this to user location information, and convey this information to a mobile app to produce shot statistics. The mobile app will provide ease of use and connectivity to the device, analysis of past recordings or live feed, and will run the object detection algorithm. The application produces a map of the player’s total shot attempts and categorizes the attempts based on made or missed shots. The player is informed from what side of the court they made the most shots and where they struggled the most. B.Ball-Stars provides instant feedback as well as playback video which allows the player to rewatch their previous session.
