The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 25% of deaths in the United States are from heart disease; furthermore, John Hopkins Medicine reports that COVID-19 has a negative impact on heart functionality. Wearable devices that track vital information such as the heart rate, and stress response do exist, but prove to be inaccurate due to their placement or methods of data collection. Our user needs an affordable and easy to use system to accurately track their heart rate, temperature and stress response; with this data we also alert the user of any abnormalities in their measurements, such as increased heart rate, enabling them to make necessary adjustments or consult professionals if needed. We have developed a system that rests on the user’s chest to most accurately record the heart rate and in testing we found that, when compared to popular competitors, our system was most accurate.
