The pandemic has made the world rethink what we value and how we live. It has introduced a new era where personal health is deemed as the most important aspect of our lives. As seen on the news, one of the greatest challenges during this pandemic has been the critical shortages in professional health staff, medical supplies, and hospital beds. With the increasing number of cases daily, keeping track of the health conditions of the infected patients has become extremely difficult. To combat these problems, we’ve created a health monitor for our users. This tool offers features to obtain the patient’s vitals such as heart rate, temperature, and blood oxygen while offering portability, functionality, and accuracy. We are aware that people’s vitals are already being monitored en-mass in U.S. hospitals, however, the targeted users for this product will be the medical staff, healthcare professionals, and volunteers in developing countries. Our goal is to provide more assistance for our users to effectively monitor the health of the patients who lack the required medical attention. We’ve tested the readings from our medical device and compared it with the expected values for the measurements we should get. Our results managed to stay within the desired range and we’ve obtained over 90% accuracy.
