Modern navigation systems for the visually impaired are very expensive and lack haptic feedback. There is a need for an affordable option for the visually impaired community that will help them navigate the complex and fast moving environments. Our prototype, BoostOne, uses object detection to provide the user with feedback on objects in the user’s walk path. The user will be notified by a combination of vibrational and auditory feedback if an object is within 2.5 meters of them and if it is to their left, right, or directly in front of them. The prototype consists of a pair of glasses, with a pair of earphones embedded in it for auditory feedback, and a glove to provide tactile alerts when a faster response is required.
