Design & Fabrication of a Regenerative Shock absorber

Project Description Heading link

In the modern age, people use automobiles as their primary method of transportation. These automobiles utilize shock absorbers that assist in dampening the oscillations caused by driving over small aberrations on roads. This project designs and fabricates an inexpensive regenerative shock absorber, that is capable to transform the vehicle’s vibrational energy to an electrical energy that can in turn be used to power electrical equipment components of the vehicle itself. After thorough research and trial runs, it is seen that a magnetorheological version of a regenerative shock absorber would be more beneficial in comparison to a hydraulic regenerative shock absorber and proved successful in generating a sufficient amount of electricity.
