We are creating an Arduino laser tripwire security system. Two Arduinos will communicate over the internet via WiFi to allow them to communicate at any distance. We will be using the ESP8266 WiFi card on each Arduino, as well as a laser tripwire. One Arduino will serve as the transmitter (the laser), and the other will be the receiver (alarm). We have found examples of Arduino laser tripwires online, but none of them use Wifi and a second Arduino as the alarm system.
