Maintaining a home aquarium is more complex than just putting a fish in water. Unfortunately, that is the experience of first-time fish owners. Many parameters need to be monitored to provide optimal fish health and prevent unexpected death. An affordable, smart aquarium is needed to both educate the customer on how to take care of their fish and monitor water quality. Our project is an aquarium monitoring system that sends and receives data and care instructions to a companion app on the user’s phone. It monitors the pH, temperature and water clarity, in addition to feeding the fish at regular intervals. While we cannot prevent goldfish at fairs, we can provide new and experienced pet owners with a one-stop aquarium care system and educational application.
