Project Description Heading link

With the discovery of high entropy alloys, five or more well-mixed metal elements, we are now trying to find a way to produce them in bulk. High entropy alloys have unique physical and chemical properties that would be beneficial in the fields of catalysis, plasmonics, nanomedicine and electronics, making them an important substance to study and invest in. In this project we test the effectiveness of evaporating a solvent with these particles in an insulated quartz tube in order to have dry particles leave this assembly so that it can  move through the rest of the quenching process. With thermal analysis and modeling on Ansys, we were able to determine the appropriate temperature of the heating zone in the quartz tube to optimize this process.
