In the United States, there are over 3.4 million people that suffer from epilepsy. Means for detecting seizures associated with epilepsy are currently found in hospitals and other medical facilities. Most of these devices are large, require a significant number of attached sensors, and are extremely impractical for everyday use. We have designed our device to be portable, affordable, and potentially life saving for someone that suffers from epilepsy/seizures. Our wrist-worn device puts together selected components with customized software to establish a means of early detection and alert of epileptic/seizure laden episodes.
