Project Description Heading link

Lite-Bike is a safety device made for bicyclist safety to avoid accidents via enhanced predictability and visibility in the bicyclists’ movements. This is achieved by using strips of LED lights on both the back of a black jacket (given to via us) and on the handles of the bike itself (easily attachable/detachable to put on other bikes at the will of the user) to make the rider more visible to other people and transit elements. These LEDS work by indicating the direction of the turn the user desires to make (similar to a car) by flashing the strips of LEDs on whatever side button the user presses (if they press the left button, the left strip blinks and vice versa). The lights will deactivate from flashing after a turn when the user decides by pressing the same button again. This safety device also has a movement crash detection system that will trigger red alarm signal lights via the LEDS to alert passerby people if the user had crashed. Thus, all of these components are put together to create the Lite-Bike: a bike safety design that takes into consideration user ease all the while keeping them visible and predictable to the other people around them.
